What is Meditation?

Meditation is letting your mind and body relax and listening to what universe is saying around you. Of course you're thinking, "Yeah right... I can't sit still for 5 minutes." Meditation is accomplished through practice. Start by just trying to sit and keep your mind still and quiet for one minute and add a minute each day. You will find the more your practice, the easier it becomes.

Meditation can be done in a group, with a friend, alone, in your house, in your car, or in a beautiful setting such as the on this page. Where ever you are or who you are with, if you mind is still, you are meditating.

For beginners it might help if you take a class get guided meditation CD’s. This will help you relax without having to put a lot of "thought" into it.

It's best not to try "too hard" to calm your mind. You will find it will be impossible if you focus on keeping it still. Simply let the thoughts that arise in your mind go as they show up.

Meditation has been proven to reduce stress levels, provide more energy throughout the day, and help with mood swings. Bringing the practice of meditation into your life is beneficial to you in so many ways.
